Operation principle
This aneroid barometer uses a thin, elastic metal capsule as a sensing element. This capsule converts atmospheric pressure into elastic displacement transmitted through a lever and gear mechanism, which moves the pointer. When the pointer deflects clockwise, it indicates an increase in pressure; conversely, when the pointer deflects counterclockwise, it indicates a decrease in pressure. When the elastic stress of the capsule is balanced with the atmospheric pressure, the pointer stops moving, and the pressure value indicated by the pointer is the current atmospheric pressure.
Calibration reports
A calibration certificate is provided with each unit to assure accuracy from an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 conforming calibration laboratory and indicates traceability of measurements to the SI units through NIST.
